a teaser of our california trip...since you think i don't do anything all day.
i have realized that between may 6th and june 6th are the busiest days for our family...every year.
add to that:
not to mention the fact that my family still needs to be fed, my housework still needs to be done and i have to sleep at some point.
i'm tired already.

p.s. dear mom and rosie: i tried to get your mother's day presents mailed in a timely manner. sorry about that.
dear mom,
i did it, not just once but twice! did you ever think that i, your uncrafty daughter would be the one with empty spools of thread? now that's a lot of sewing...over 2000 yards of thread in the past year. you have tried for years to pass along your passion for sewing and stuff. i caught the bug.
thanks for finishing many of my projects over the past several years...because i was in tears and couldn't figure out what i had done wrong. the mess -up on kathryn's baby quilt still has me baffled...it seems so simple now.
i think i'll make necklaces out of my empty spools...maybe i'll sell them on etsy.
love,
your favorite daughter (we know deep down that's the truth)

"dabid"...that's what he's called.
reese has decided that "dad" isn't a good name for dave anymore but "dabid" is perfect! all weekend we have heard "hi dabid" when reese wakes up from a nap, "where's dabid?" when dave can't be found, and this morning it was "bye dabid" when dave left for work.
dave feels like the step-dad, "this is my mom and her husband "dabid".
funny thing is that i never call him david...well sometimes i do when i am mad at him but usually it's dave.
luckily reese and "dabid" look enough alike that nobody will suspect a thing.
